Chook House Coworking Mel Croad

As a senior agri- market analyst for iFarm, Mel Croad has her finger on the pulse of national and international sheep and beef markets. She is part of a team who create regular reports for farm and industry bodies.

With two preschoolers, Mel, who is also the editor for Market Outlook, worked from home but it wasn’t always ideal and meant several trips to town daily to take her children to daycare.

Mel joined The Chook House as soon as it opened and works there three days a week.

It’s been a smart move she says. “I have been able to increase my days working and now make just one trip to town each time.”

Mel, whose office space is paid for by her company, feels she is able to meet her deadlines more readily than she used to. This potentially frees her up for another activity.  “I enjoy getting out in front of our subscribers, educating them on their industry and trying to help their bottom line; that’s what this the role is all about.”

Mel says being in an office makes her feel more professional again and she enjoys the positive work environment. “Everyone thrives here; I feel as if iFarm_logo_strap_H_cmyk_REVwe are a little team, even though we all have different ventures.”
